Treasures, it’s been a while 💌✨
I’ve let the year slip by like a flower on a fast flowing river, and it’s already past midsummer. Fear not, however, maybe this is my new style, a bi-annual update to those who wish to receive one? 💘
Firstly, I hope you’re well. And if you’re struggling right now, I wish you strength in whatever capacity you might require, either quiet or loud, or somewhere in between.
I’ve decided to just write something freeform for this instalment, perhaps with some updates here and there of where you can find things I’m up to, celebrating life’s achievements, and if anything, I simply wish to record my moments of momentum from the year so far, and bring up to speed anyone who wishes to have a nosey or join in my attempt to celebrate my wins.
First up, let’s get this week’s energy reading out of the way. It appears to have been all about setting boundaries, declaring where you stand and how others are allowed to treat you before you sound the alarm, if only to yourself. Define your outline and let yourself see where others are placed around you. Proceed accordingly from there.
You can find the card reading video below (extended version on patreon), along with an EFT Tapping prompt to assist with regulating your nervous system while you traverse your boundary setting. Good luck and give it a go—reach out if you’d like to work together in a more in depth capacity, we can reflect on what you’re going through and see if we can build up some emotional resilience or just let it all out and have a good cry or a scream. Or a laugh. Whatever your body needs, whatever bubbles up to be released.
Next up: how’s your heart? I published some poetry this year with my university’s literary society journal, Enigma. My first publication other than my own, and I have to say it has my heart. The cover is lovely and I’m so very looking forward to sinking my teeth into the rest of the body of work submitted by other writers.
It turns out it’s worth keeping those old notebooks you scribbled down streams of consciousness into two years earlier while you were going through a breakup, or any life transition for that matter. Submit them to be published and see what happens, that’s what I did. Don’t burn those pages just yet.
The publication was a limited run I believe, and I managed to pick up the last copy myself, so you’ll just have to read it online for now, otherwise, get in touch with Exeter Bookbag and ask them to let you know when it’s back in stock.
And now for what’s coming up: next week on Friday July 11th I’ll be in conversation with a panel of other creative academics for Working Titles Journal pre-launch salon. Free to attend online or in-person (if you find yourself in sunny Weimar) I’ll be sharing insights from my own practice-as-research article submission and joining the following participants to explore a range of magical topics:

“This interim presentation of the upcoming Working Titles issue—SPELL CHECK: Spiritualism, Shamanism, Sorcery & the Reincarnation of the Occult in Dark Times—is not a launch, but a live process. Structured as a prelaunch salon, the event introduces the authors and their contributions-in-progress to the public in three one-hour panel sessions. These panels bring contributors into critical dialogue with one another, emphasizing the journal’s core values: appreciation of peer culture, praxis, and the generative “search” at the heart of practice-based research.
Working Titles is a platform where artistic research unfolds in public, and the process matters as much as the outcome. This presentation reflects that ethos through live peer-review: a discursive, open exchange that resists closure and embraces friction.” more info.
Finally, but by no means least, it’s Pride in London this weekend so I’m offering 50% off all Tarot and EFT Tapping sessions throughout July to anyone who wants to donate to any of three trans rights causes:
To receive your discounted booking link just send me a screenshot of your donation by replying to this email or via Instagram DM.
That’s all for now, it’s an honour to chat with you again, even if this email lands in the void, it feels good to get my letter-writing juices flowing again. Write back if you so desire 💌✨
Much love and thanks,
Luke xx
